Area

The area number as defined with the network area command.

Neighbor ID

The IP address of a neighbor.

Pri

The priority assigned to that neighbor with the ip ospf priority command.

State

The state of the router adjacency:

  • Init - at least one hello packet has been received from the neighbor but the adjacency is not yet two-way

  • 2Way - it is now known that the neighbor has heard from us and has included our router identifier in its hello. In some cases adjacencies will never progress beyond this state

  • Exch Start - the two routers are going to synchronize. They are in the process of determining which router will be the Master and which the Slave

  • Exchange - the two routers are describing the set of advertisements in their respective databases to each other

  • Loading - the two routers now know what advertisements the other has that they want and are in the process of getting them

  • Full - both routers have completed exchanging all their relevant advertisements

Dead Time

The number of seconds to wait for an advertisement before declaring this neighbor down. This value is defined with the ip ospf dead-interval command.

Address

IP address of the neighbor.
