isis password


Sets the Level 1 or Level 2 password and enables authentication for the interface.

Syntax: isis password password [level-1 | level-2]

no isis password [level-1 | level-2]

password

Authentication password assigned to the interface.

level-l

Configures an authentication password for level-1 routing.

level-2

Configures an authentication password for level-2 routing.

Description: The interface-level password prevents unauthorized routers from forming an adjacency with this interface.

Use the isis password password command to configure a password for the interface. If no level is specified, the command configures the password for level-1 routing only.

Use the isis password password or the isis password password level-1 command to configure the interface password for level-1 (intra-area) routing.

Use the isis password password level-2 command to configure the interface password for level-2 (inter-area) routing.

Use the no isis password command to disable authentication for the interface.

Factory Default: Authentication disabled.

Command Mode: Interface configuration.

Example: In the following example:

router(config)#router isis 0

router(config-router)#net 49.0001.0000.0000.1111.00

router(config-router)#interface pos 1/5/1

router(config-if)#ip router isis 0

router(config-if)#isis password deleteme level-1

router(config-if)#end
