Sets the activation time for this security association.

Syntax: start-time [now | hh:mm:ss day month year]

now

Start security association now.

hh:mm:ss

Start security association now at this time. This is a 24 hour clock. The leading zero is optional for single digit hour values.A leading zero is required for values less than 10 minutes. A leading zero is required for values less than 10 seconds.

day

Start security association on this day of the month. Valid values are 1 - 31.

month

Start security association at this month. Use the full month name; i.e. "September".

year

Start security association at this year. Use the full four-digit number; i.e. "2001".

Description: A security association is a set of parameters that determine how two or more routers use security services. A security association bundles an authentication algorithm, start time, expiration time, authentication key, and IS-IS level and associates these parameters with a security key ID.

Use the start-time now command to immediately activate this security association.

Use the start-time hh:mm:ss day month year command to configure the activation time and date for this security association.

Factory Default: None.

Command Mode: Security configuration.

Example: In the following example:

router#router isis 10

router(config-router)#security 1 level-1

router(config-security)#authentication hmac-md5 sa-Key1

router(config-security)#start-time 12:00 november 20 2001

router(config-security)#end-time 12:00 december 10 2001

router(config-security)#end

router#show isis security-association 1
